Star Polymers is a packaging firm based out of Chennai, dealing in the manufacture and supply of a wide variety of polymer-based packaging products. Started in 2009, we have been expertly catering to the packaging needs of numerous garment producers and buyers all over the globe.

We specialise in multi-colour printed PP/LDPE/BOPP polybags of all sizes and variants including but not limited to Ziplock, Slider, Sealking and Hanger polybags with or without flap & gusset. We can also supply Oxo Bio-degradable polybags which help reduce the carbon footprint and thereby protect the environment.

With in-house converting facilities of Extrusion, Injection Moulding, Printing, Sealing & Cutting, we have a large production capacity to accommodate huge volumes. We have one 8-colour, one 6-colour & one 4-colour Rotogravure Printing machines, a couple of 6-colour Flexo Printing machines, 3 Automatic Injection Moulding machines for high speed production of hangers of any shape & size and 5 sealing and cutting machinery under a combined roof of 18000 sq.ft.

Our facilities have been thoroughly audited by and passed for production compliance by renowned buyers like C&A, Carrefour and H&M under their strict standards, apart from whom we also do major volumes for popular brands like Primark, Aldi, Migros, Siplec, Indian Terrain and many more.

Hi-Life Labels manufactures and supplies Woven labels, Printed labels, Hang tags, insert cards, Printed cotton and herringbone tapes, Self-adhesive barcode stickers, transfer stickers, woven posters in accordance with the International Standards. It has Weaving, Printing and Finishing facilities at Tirupur, India and Karur, India to cater the needs of Apparel Exporters and Handloom Exporters located in the area and abroad with nominations in UK, Srilanka, China and Turkey.

Our factories are audited and certified by SEDEX and ISO 9001. We are also approved for supplying licensed merchandise by Disney and other brands. Our products are all OEKO-TEX certified.

Laser cutting machines from SEIT Electronica SRL, Italy for die-cutting labels in any shape and finishing machines from Willys, Italy and Alber, Turkey to cut & fold labels and tags. Merrowing machines and Ultrasonic slitting machines are the latest additions. 3500+ yarn shades and artboards from a color bank of 5000 sq.m of warehouse is used to match the exact shade of labels.

Hi-Life Labels is committed to a clean and green environment. We power the nation by contributing green power generated by wind turbines and in house solar power plant. Design Plus Plus specializes in printing insert cards, hangtags, printed cardboard boxes/PVC boxes, paper bands and stickers. Design Plus Plus has established itself as a unique brand in the printing and packaging industry since its inception in 1993.

Its manufacturing facility is located in Karur, India, a major home textile export hub. The facility is audited and certified as ISO 9001 and USFD standards complaint and approved by SEDEX, IKEA i-way and Disney for manufacturing licensed products.

Complete in-house Pre-press facility like Kodak CTP plate making, washing, color lab, image setter and plotter managed by in-house design studio is our biggest strength. Ricoh digital presses help us turnaround short print jobs faster. The printing section has Mitsubishi printing machines, all equipped with varnish coaters and UV stations. This helps us specialize in recycled and kraft boards. Hanky screen printing machine is used for screen-printing and heat transfer stickers.

Polar and Jackal Guillotine cutting machines, Original Heidelberg die-cutting and lamination machines help us make boxes and creative packaging items. GSM tests, moisture tests, barcode verification, Dot loss test, pH tests, folding endurance, gloss/friction tests can also be done.

Our R&D department is focused on recycled and organic solutions. Design Plus Plus has joined the FSC program the year 2012 to improve forest management worldwide, which helps forest owners follow best social and environmental practices such as protecting bio-diversity, indigenous peoples rights and workers rights.

How was Komamhm Born? I used to read the newspaper articles about women’s hygiene and the problems around MHM. That is how I learned that young girls drop out of school because of not being able to cope with their periods, hygienically. Then I thought about the privileges which the women in my family can enjoy, but not others because they are in remote locations, do not have enough money and are not well-educated.

Why should such a situation be allowed to continue? The nation’s Swacch Bharat Mission provides separate toilets for girls and boys in schools. Some schools even provide sanitary napkin vending machines. This should become a mass movement - easily available sanitary napkins at a low cost in all schools and to all women in villages.

The Start of a Journey: So, I developed the first sanitary napkin manufacturing machine at our factory in Chennai. This is a very basic machine, easy to operate even in rural areas, by non-technical persons. This was followed by other models and machines which have been used in trial runs and pilot projects. And, we are still re-designing and fine-tuning – now offering the second and third generation of sanitary napkin machines. Along with incinerators, napkin vending machines and the raw materials for producing sanitary napkins.

My Goal: To offer Faster, Better and Even More Modern Machines … which can be easily operated to produce cost-effective, slim, attractive products in large volumes. These will be at par with the global brands and which women and young girls can use with confidence.
